How many of you dye your hair and how often you do it?

Okay, you're probably wondering why I'm inquring about that in a community about swimming...but I can promise it's on topic with the community.

I recently got my hair dyed black. This is the first time I ever dyed my hair in the thirty years I've been alive. However, the dye I used is temporary. So, my major inquiry is this. If you dye your hair with a temporary dye, how many weeks or times you wash your hair should you wait before you go back to swimming in a pool? I know this is an unusual question, but I don't want to show up at the bath house and stain the water black while I swim.

I'm not sure if this will help - is yours the kind of dye where you can literally see colour washing away in the shower each time? I don't think I've ever used one like that.
I use a semi-permanent dye (no peroxide) and I just make sure to wait a day after colouring for it to fully set before I go for a swim. That's for my benefit, though, not the pool - it just helps keep the colour a little more vibrant in my hair. You can't see anything in the water afterwards, in my case. My colour is a kind of a honey-brown.

I guess you won't see it in the pool, even if you see it a bit in the shower. I think the soap in the shampoo is part of what makes the dye come out (if it's temporary dye.) I guess, also, that if you wear a bathing cap that will keep things from (scuze me) getting hairy...

I think so too. I don't see the dye run down until I use the shampoo.

I have heard that regular swimming will mean that the dye washes out more quickly but I am not really sure about that.
I'm not sure about that either, but I can imagine that's the case.

I did ask my SO about it and he said he would give it a week before I would go to the pool. However, I don't plan to dye my hair again :O I did it solely as his birthday present because he wanted to see what I would look like with another hair color (we've been together for almost nine years)
